COVID-19

Update 5/18/2020

We are happy to announce limited in-person office visits for naturopathic medicine and acupuncture are now available.

We are starting to schedule a small number of patients for acupuncture appointments for conditions that are difficult to address through video visits following the guidelines of the Oregon Medical Board and the safety recommendations of the OHA. We are prioritizing patients that are in pain or have other acute symptoms. Please contact the front desk or your provider with any questions about being seen for your condition.

Dr. Owens and Dr. Gibbons are happy to be expanding their in-person visits to include well-child visits for all ages, immunizations, annual exams, and necessary in-person visits.  Please call the office if you have questions about what type of visit to schedule for your situation.

All providers will continue to offer telemedicine visits, which may be scheduled online or by phone.

We will continue to follow the same precautions to minimize risk to patients, providers and staff:

  • If you have been in contact with a sick person in the last 14 days, have traveled outside the state of Oregon in the last 4 weeks, or have any of the following symptoms:  fever, sore throat, nausea, cough, loss of smell, or loss of taste, please do not schedule an in-office appointment. These screening questions will be asked of all patients when scheduling appointments.

  • Please call the office upon your arrival, and plan to wait in a vehicle or outside of the clinic until you receive a call or text that your provider is ready to see you.

  • Limited seats are available in the waiting room for those with disabilities, those who take public transit and those who do not have cell phones.

  • All providers and employees will be wearing face masks. Patients over the age of two are asked to wear masks or cloth face coverings during their stay in the clinic.

  • Providers will be checking patient temperatures upon arrival and will reschedule patients in their treatment room whenever possible in order to minimize traffic through the waiting area.

  • We are taking extensive measures to ensure surfaces are disinfected regularly and ask that patients wash their hands upon arrival at the clinic.

  • Contact-free pickup for supplements will continue to be available and can be arranged by calling the front desk at 503-335-3201.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Update 4/6/2020

We miss seeing you all in the office regularly, and are looking forward to the time when we can connect again in person!

Until then, our clinic remains open to telemedicine (including “acupuncture” and Chinese Medicine) and certain necessary preventative care services, such as immunizations and some well-child visits, following guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics.  Virtually all insurers are covering telemedicine at this time, just as they do traditional office visits. We want you to be well-supported, and we’re here to help in whatever way we can! Our front desk remains open Monday through Friday to assist with scheduling, coordinate care and answer questions.

You can also schedule telemedicine visits via https://tabor-village-wellness.genbook.com to deal with any acute concerns, your questions regarding COVID-19, or to continue to work on the chronic health issues we’ve been addressing in office visits. Perhaps you’d like to take the opportunity presented by the stay at home orders to adopt some of the lifestyle changes we’ve discussed? We can help with that!

We are also able to refill your natural pharmacy items while maintaining excellent social distancing! Call to let us know what you need, and we’ll pull it together for you so you can pick it up on our front stoop during an agreed-upon time during office hours.

We’re here to support you.  Our community is strong, and we will make it through this remarkable time, together!

Update 3/15/2020

Our clinic is committed to remaining open and available to our patients during this time. We will continue to offer office visits, well visits, acupuncture and management of your ongoing health concerns. We will also work with you to coordinate care should you fall ill and require additional support. Our ability to continue to support patients requires your participation and clear communication.

In that spirit, we recommend that you avoid air travel, practice basic hygiene and social distancing, and take good care of yourself and your loved ones.

We are asking all patients who are currently experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough or shortness of breath, or who have had recent travel or exposure to a known case of coronavirus to contact the clinic (or their primary care doctor) before coming in to the clinic. We will decide if it is best to cancel the appointment, have a virtual visit or come in to be seen. We may ask you to remain in your car until your appointment starts, and the doctor may escort you in the clinic via an alternate entrance. When in doubt, please reach out and we’ll help you decide the best course of action.

If you have an appointment already scheduled but would prefer to do a virtual visit with your naturopathic provider instead, please contact us and we’ll decide together if that’s a good fit. You may also simply reschedule your visit.

At Tabor Village Wellness we are maintaining all normal hygiene and cleanliness routines, plus being extra aware of sanitation and exposure reduction. Our number one priority is to keep the clinic clean and safe for our patients, and we commit to adhering to the appropriate health department guidelines with regards to clinic closures.

Please call the office at 503-335-3201 or email info@taborvillagewellness.com if you have questions or concerns. Please understand that we are experiencing a sharp increase in call and email volume. We ask that you be patient as you await our response, understanding that we are committed to responding to your concerns as quickly as we can.

We appreciate everything you are doing to help reduce the impact that this virus has on all of us. Please continue to follow the recommendations of our state health department. For updated info, go to the Oregon Health Authority: https://www.oregon.gov/oha/pages/index.aspx.

Thank you for your cooperation.
Take care!
